My 10 year old daughter surprised me one morning at 6 am as I was getting out of the shower. As I stepped out with my towel around my waist I was greeted by a goofy grin and the words “good morning daddy!”
“Hi sweetheart”, I said with suspicion, “what’s going on?”
“I stayed up all night; can we go to quick trip?”
So I finished getting dressed and we went and got donuts and drinks. I got coffee and she got a slushy.
Certainly, I don’t condone children staying up all night. However, in our finite coporial existance, the things we do and say in a moment, will be remembered. I’m trying to slow down and take it all in.
